Lee Marsh started railway modelling as a small child and joined the Edinburgh and Lothians MRC aged 11. A year later his first model was a Wills LNER J39 built with help and tuition from a club member. Lee’s career as a modelmaker started in his early twenties in1995. Since then he has made custom models and as well as being involved in imported O gauge brass models since 2008. This business is now winding down and Lee is slowly returning to custom building work. He enjoys making detail parts in his workshop and is now helping his 11 year son with his own 00 railway.
Lee has been heavily influenced by his late friend Tony Reynalds and by Stan Beeson as well as being a good friend of P D Hancock who left his 4mm Craig and Mertonford Light Railway models to Lee when he passed.
Lee loves anything steam having been a member of a model engineering club as well as working on and firing the real thing at Bo’Ness.
Lee will be joining Kevin Wilson from our Spring 2027 weekend to tutor the 7mm and larger Locomotive and Kit Construction course.
